Rajesh began his seagoing career in 1996 as junior deck officer. He has sailed on VLCC, VLGC, LPG vessels carrying Propane, Butane, Ammonia, Butadiene, VCM & LPG mix.
He was promoted to Master and has 5 years command experience sailing worldwide, in LNG Carriers. Specifically, Q-flex LNG vessels (2nd largest) with twin propulsion and reliquefication plant, and NO96 and Mark-III membrane vessels with steam turbines.
Rajesh came ashore in 2014 and took up the role of Global Safety and Quality – Auditor, Trainer, and Investigator LNG carriers, for a major operator of LNG carriers.
Since that role Rajesh has been, Marine /HSEQ Superintendent – LNG vessels & LNG bunkering taking delivery and overseeing the maiden delivery of a LNG Bunker vessel, drafted and reviewed LNG bunkering procedures, ISO standards for QCDC and SGMF procedures for LNG bunkering.
He has been lead auditor and participated in various HAZID/HAZOP workshops involving LNG bunkering operations.
He then took up a role as DPA/CSO/Manager (Marine operations/ HSSEQ / QA) – LNG vessels & LNG bunkering for 5 years, during which time he was Team Lead for Marine operations & supervision of a fleet of 11 LNG vessels, set HSEQ and environmental objectives, was lead incident investigator, developed and implemented Safety Management procedures carrying out gap analysis for new regulations with focus on customer requirements ensuring compliance with IMO protocols, flag state guidelines and industry recommendations.
He has extensive experience conducting Pre-SIRE inspections for the LNG fleet, Gap analysis for SIRE 2.0 and developed procedures for setting minimum marine assurance standards for tanker/gas pool.
