Thomas joined TMC in June 2018, after 10 years at sea, during which time he served on a variety of vessel types including Container vessels and Ro-Ro passenger ferries, as well as clean petroleum products and LNG tankers.
He started his seagoing career with Maersk Marine Services on Container vessels as well as serving in Maersk owned Norfolkline line on Ro-Ro passenger ferries. In 2010 he joined BP Shipping where he gained experience on clean petroleum product vessels with Framo systems, followed by significant sea time on LNG vessels, both membrane and moss type vessels.
He has experience of warm up and cool down operations as well as gas freeing prior to tank entry on aboard LNG vessels. Additionally, Thomas has completed a 5th special survey docking onboard a moss type LNG carrier, as well as regularly completing STS operations onboard LNG vessels. Whilst in BP Shipping he worked closely with Kongsberg / Sperry / Furuno ECDIS systems including attending manufactures training courses.
During his time in BP Shipping, Thomas obtained his Chief Officer Unlimited – Certificate of Competency and then his Master Mariners Unlimited – Certificate of Competency.
