TMC, a Bureau Veritas Group Company, is a leading international marine consultancy. We have been providing advice and support to the marine industry since 1979.
TMC’s greatest strength is the quality of its staff – we are able to offer a comprehensive range of marine surveying and consultancy services through our team of consultant surveyors (naval architects, marine engineers and master mariners) assisted by our in-house technical support team. Our technical support team, accounting and administration personnel assist greatly in enabling us to provide an efficient service to clients.
The company employs over 50 people in the UK and around the world, and currently the London and Medway offices are certified to ISO9001 (2015) Quality Assurance Standard.
Our Singapore and Shanghai offices are due to achieve accreditation towards the later part of the year.
TMC (Marine Consultants) Ltd was established in 1979 by three partners, each of whom brought many years of marine surveying experience to the company. Since that time shipping has undergone many changes and during this period TMC has grown and adapted to meet the challenges of today’s demanding maritime industry.
Success built on customer satisfaction
Our reputation as a high quality, marine surveying and consultancy service is one of which we are proud. Our success is built on the satisfaction of our clients, and the company aims to remain at the forefront of its business by continuous improvement.
Our in-house software allows us the option of having programs tailored to suit specific circumstances. This is particularly useful in the salvage operations, such as re-floating of a vessel broken in two parts or where excessive hull girder deformation has occurred. Software programs produced by TMC have been approved by the major classification society.
Programs written by TMC are used for ship stability, longitudinal strength, container stowage and securing, project cargo, manoeuvring and mooring analysis. Some industry programs are also used by TMC, not only to deal with specific subjects (e.g. localised strength and Seakeeping) but occasionally for back up in unusual cases.
