Naval Architect Manager – Head of Naval Architects

Michael is a Naval Architect with over thirty years of experience operating across the maritime shipping and offshore energy markets.

Mike combines his design, engineering, construction and project management background in new building and conversion projects with substantial commercial & contractual experience in shipyard contracting, sale & purchase and chartering transactions as well as business development and strategic advisory roles.

He has worked on projects and transactions ranging from tankers, bulk carriers, LNG carriers, containerships, mobile offshore drilling units, floating production systems (FPSO, FLNG, FSRU) to offshore accommodation & construction units, subsea vessels and oceanographic research vessels.

He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers with an established international network across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

• Bachelor of Engineering (BEng Hons Naval Architecture) – University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), Engineering Council, United Kingdom
• Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (MRINA), United Kingdom
• Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (FICS), United Kingdom

He is experienced in working with international clients to support strategic decision making, contract negotiations and complex transactions for specialised, high value marine & offshore assets.

Mike has worked extensively as an expert witness giving evidence in court and arbitrations in Singapore, London, Nigeria and Canada.

Mike joined TMC Marine as Naval Architecture Manager in October 2026.
