Roger King is a Master Mariner, Special Casualty Representative and Marine Consultant for TMC Marine. Roger has served on bulk carriers, RORO’s, cellular container, container and general cargo AHTS operations including deep water anchor handling vessels to Chief Officer level. He has Master’s experience on harbour and offshore tugs. He has owned and operated commercial fishing vessels and has over 5000 hours commercial (abalone) diving experience.

Roger has attended numerous salvage and wreck removals across Oceania and the Middle East and is a Lloyds Special Casualty Representative. He has acted as casualty representative, owners and insurers representative, independent surveyor, distressed cargo specialist as well as shoreline response manager.

His technical, legal, and expert witness instructions have included a major port channel blockage analysis with mitigations and pre-planned salvage responses, unsafe ports, container losses, salvage risks and dangers, mooring breakaways, large cargo claims, incident investigations, and fishing vessel prosecutions.

Roger has an eye for detail with a strong seamanship and ship operations background. He is accustomed to operating in remote locations, liaising with indigenous societies, coastal state authorities as well as the highest levels of government to achieve positive project outcomes.
